Luftwaffe M40 Trousers
Luftwaffe M40 Straight Legged Trousers (Lange Hose für Mannschaften). The straight legged trousers were the standard issue Luftwaffe trousers, replaced in 1943 by the 'Keilhose' combat field trousers, the straight legged trousers remained in production and use for the duration of the war. The trousers are made of the standard Luftwaffe blue-grey wool. The trousers have two, diagonally angled, front pockets and a small watch pocket. A strap and metal buckle is sewn on the back for tightening. The trousers are showing some size markings. The trousers are in heavily used and worn condition showing clear traces of usage, staining and various damages and repairs, see photos. Still a nice pair of combat worn Luftwaffe straight legged trousers!
These trousers originate from the collection of the recently closed Eyewitness Museum and were in display in the diorama in the last picture!
