Reichsbahn Belt & Buckle
German Reichsbahn Officer's Belt & Buckle (Feldbinde und Koppelschloss). After Hitler's accession to power in 1933 he immediately began a restructuring of the National railway system and by early 1937 had succeeded in achieving a centralized efficient National Railway. With this restructuring new uniforms and insignia were introduced for railway personnel in 1933. The round style buckle was introduced in 1940 for wear by RBD Officers, the buckle was worn on the black leather belt for the service dress and the brocade belt for dress wear. This is a nicely fire-gilded aluminum construction buckle, the buckle shows the 'Deutsche Reichsbahn' logo. The buckle is nicely maker marked by the company of 'F.W. Assmann' from Lüdenscheid and dated 1940. The buckle comes together with it's rarely found original 'Ersatz' type pressed paper belt. Rare original set in very good condition!
