WH (Heer) Artillery Officer's Tunic
Wehrmacht (Heer) Officer's Tunic as intended for an 'Oberleutnant' within tan Artillery Regiment. The German Officer’s service tunic followed the basic design of the Enlisted Men/NCO’s field blouse, the most readily visible difference (besides the insignia) are the turned up French cuffs. This is a nice quality, 'privately purchased' M36-style field-grey wool tunic with dark-green collar. The buttons are all the aluminum pebbled examples. The tunic is complete with all original applied insignia, including a nicely hand-embroiderd breast-eagle, shoulder boards of the sew-in type and nicely machine-sewn officer's type collar tabs. Both the collar tabs and shoulder-boards are piped in the red 'Truppenfarbe' (branch colour) indicating the 'Artillerie' (Artillery). One pip is attached to the shoulder-boards indicating an 'Oberleutnant' within an 'Artillerie-Regiment'. An Iron Cross 2nd Class and Ostmedal ribbon are originally hand-sewn through one of the button-holes. There are loops to the wearer's left breast-pocket to attach various medals. The tunic is complete with internal dagger-hangers. The tunic is in overall good used condition with some minor age and wear toning, see photos for details. Nice original early red piped Artillery officer's tunic in very good condition!
