Wehrmacht (Heer) M40 Single Decal Combat Helmet (Stahlhelm M40). The stamped sheet steel construction M40 helmet retains most of its rough textured, field-grey 'sand' camouflage overpaint. The paint shows normal wear and scratches caused by usage, see photos. A standard Heeres decal is clearly visible beneath the camouflage paint. All three liner retaining rivets are intact, the helmet is complete with its an original (in my opinion replaced) M31 leather liner in very good condition. The liner is a size '54'. The liner is complete with its original liner cord. The shell is marked with maker and size 'ET62' which indicates production by the company 'Eisen-und Hüttenwerke, AG' in Thale/Harz. The reverse interior neck guard apron has a stamped serial number '1331'. The name of the soldier 'Siebke' has been painted in the reverse of the helmet. Nice original camouflaged M40 combat helmet in good used condition!
