WH (Heer) Medical (Arzt) Officer's Visor Cap (Schirmmütze). Visor caps were a standard item for all armed forces personnel during the Third Reich period. Although enlisted personnel were issued their caps from government supplies they were also permitted to purchase privately tailored caps. This is a nice private purchased Officer's example. Complete with celluloid manufacturers sweat-diamond ('Raute'), maker marked by the famous 'Erel' company, being the 'Standard' class. The cap has no visible size markings, the size is approximately 57/58cms. The cap is named to 'Dr.med. Klaus Briest'. The Visor cap is piped in the blue 'Truppenfarbe' (branch-colour) for Medical personnel. The leather sweatband is in good condition, the sweatband is nicely marked by the 'Erel' company as well. The cap is complete with it's original applied early aluminum cap-eagle and original cocarde with ventilation. The cap shows only minimal traces of usage and wear and is in overall very good condition, the cap has a great shape. There are some tiny moth damages, see photos. This cap was never before part of a collection and has recently been found with a house-cleaning in Germany. Nice original visor cap!
