WH (Heer) Tropical Combat Rucksack
Wehrmacht (Heer) Tropical Combat Rucksack (Rucksack). During the war the early M34 and M39 Affe backpacks were found to be too expensive and time consuming to produce which resulted in the production of a wide variety of less expensive canvas construction combat rucksacks and backpacks. This is a mid to late war all webbing construction tropical rucksack, executed in green, 'heavy-duty' cotton and has a rounded fold over top flap. The metal D-rings on top of the flap have been removed as more often seen. There is an affixed inner-pouch made of cotton, intended to hold some private items, like towels etc. Recycled British webbing materials have been used for the construction of this rucksack. The rucksack is nicely maker marked by the company 'Otto Anke, Lederwarenfabrik' from Litzmannstadt. The rucksack comes together with a hard to find pair of original separate carrying straps, made of recycled materials as well. Nice original late-war rucksack in very good condition!
