NJS 'Jeugdstorm' Knife
NJS 'Jeugdstorm' Knife (Stormersmes). The 'Nationale Jeugdstorm' (NJS) was a Dutch youth movementshortly before and during World War II, inspired by the German Hitler Youth. The organization was formally separated from, but in practice had close ties with the NSB. The knife has white bakelite grips, the obverse grip has an imbedded late war zinc type NJS gull logo attached, this is probably a period replacement since these knifes normally are showing an enamelled logo. The knife comes with its original magnetic sheet metal scabbard, the scabberd has probably been repainted once and shows normal traces of usage. The blade is in used condition with some staining and normal traces of usage, see photos. The blade is nicely maker marked by the company of 'Eickhorn' from Solingen, the blade shows the motto "Moed, Eer en Trouw" (Courage, Honor and Loyalty). The dagger is showing the unique number 'A1037'. This dagger was recently found in an estate from Groningen in the Netherlands. Despite the replaced logo a nice and extremely rare original Dutch Jeugdstorm dagger in good used condition!
