Reichsbahn Officer's Belt & Buckle
German Reichsbahn Officer's Belt & Buckle (Feldbinde und Koppelschloss). After Hitler's accession to power in 1933 he immediately began a restructuring of the National railway system and by early 1937 had succeeded in achieving a centralized efficient National Railway. With this restructuring new uniforms and insignia were introduced for railway personnel in 1933. The round style buckle was introduced in 1940 for wear by RBD Officers, the buckle was worn on the black leather belt for the service dress and the brocade belt for dress wear. This is a nicely fire-gilded aluminum construction buckle, the buckle shows the 'Deutsche Reichsbahn' logo. The buckle has been repaired (soldered) on the back, this looks like a period repair, see photos. The buckle comes together with its original 110cms long sized leather belt. Nice original set in used and worn condition!
