Eastern Peoples Award 2nd Class in silver without swords (Verdienstauszeichnung für Angehörige der Ostvölker, 2. Klasse in Silber). This series of awards was instituted on 14 July 1942 to recognize the contribution of volunteers from the Eastern European countries to Germany’s war effort. The zinc type medal just shows some minor wear and great detail overall, it still retains almost all of its original silver finish. The medal is complete with its original confectioned ribbon as found. The medal is nicely maker marked with number '100' which indicates production by the company of 'Wächtler & Lange' in Mittweida. The medal comes in it's hard to find original paper pouch of issue (Verleihungstüte), the pouch is in good used condition. Nice original set!
