WH (Heer) DAK NCO's M43 Tropical Tunic
WH (Heer) DAK NCO's M43 Tropical Tunic (Tropenfeldbluse M43). In late 1940, with the impending German entrance into the North African campaign, tropical uniforms and equipment were quickly developed and issued in time for DAK personnel's arrival in Tripoli in February 1941. Originally the tropical uniforms were only intended for wear in North Africa but that was later expanded to include personnel serving in southern areas of continental Europe during the summer months. The light weight khaki/olive cotton construction field blouse is complete with an original applied BeVo woven tropical breast-eagle and a set of original machine-sewn BeVo-woven tropical collar tabs. Gold/brown coloured NCO braid is machine-sewn around the collar. The right, front-closure panel lining is marked with black ink size-stamps (chest-size 96cms) and the field blouse is nicely RB.Nr. 0/0750/0166 marked and dated 1944. Nice original late war tropical field blouse in very good, near mint, condition!
