WH (Heer) Generalmajor's Greatcoat
WH (Heer) Generalmajor's Greatcoat (Tuchmantel). The Greatcoat belonged to the standard equipment of every soldier. The greatcoat could be worn in cold weather or rain and all other conceivable situations. This is a field-grey woolen construction privately purchased General's type greatcoat having a dark green collar and bright red lapel facings indicative of General officer rank, it has two rows of six gold coloured front closure buttons. The buttons are nicely maker marked with 'A & S' (Assmann & Sohne). This is a late war General's greatcoat, made of a tailored army officer's type greatcoat. The greatcoat is complete with a pair of General's type celleon shoulder-boards of the sew-in type indicating the rank of 'Generalmajor'. The greatcoat is fully lined in luxury rayon. The greatcoat is complete with internal dagger-hangers, the metal clip is nicely RZM marked. The greatcoat is complete with a label of the tailor 'Uniformen - Masscheinderei Löhr & Ilg', located at the Kaiserallee 208 in Berlin. There is one minor moth-damage to one of the red lapel facings, see photos. The greatcoat is in good worn condition with some normal traces of usage and some small damages, see photos. This greatcoat originated from the estate of Generalmajor 'Georg Seegers', he was promoted to Generalmajor on 16 March 1945. Hard to find original Wehrmacht General's greatcoat in good used condition!
