WH (Heer) 'Pionier' Officer's Tunic
Wehrmacht (Heer) Officer's Tunic as intended for an 'Oberleutnant der Pioniere' (Engineers). The German Officer’s service tunic followed the basic design of the Enlisted Men/NCO’s field blouse, the most readily visible difference (besides the insignia) are the turned up French cuffs. This is a nice quality, 'privately purchased' M36-style field-grey wool tunic with dark-green collar. The tunic is in overall very good condition with minor traces of usage. The buttons are all the field-grey pebbled examples. The tunic is complete with all original applied insignia, including a nicely hand-embroiderd breast-eagle, shoulder boards and officer's type collar tabs. Both the collar tabs and shoulder-boards are piped in the black 'Truppenfarbe' (branch colour) indicating the 'Pioniere' (Engineers). On of the slip-on shoulder-boards is having one pip ttached indicating the rank of 'Oberleutnant', the pip on the other shoulder-board is regrettably missing. It looks like cyphers might have been removed once. There are loops to the wearer's left breast-pocket to attach various medals and/or badges, a ribbon-bar for a Romanian Order of the Crown medal is attached to wearer's left breast. The tunic is complete with internal dagger-hangers. The tunic is nicely maker marked by tailor 'G.Assmann' from Halle. Nice original 'Pionier' Officer's tunic in very good condition!
