WW2 US Army Air Forces Type D-1 Leather Flight Jacket

Description

World War 2 U.S. Army Air Forces (USAAF) Type D-1 Leather Flight Jacket or Shearling Jacket. Designed for use by aircraft mechanics but also popular with aicrews as a flying jacket. The jacket is having a functional zipper and zipped slash pockets at the front. Complete with sheepskin lining, a laundry number is written on the inside 'O-3786'. The leather is showing normal traces of usage and is in overall good used condition, a nice USAAF logo is visible on the left shoulder. The jacket is complete with manufacturer label by the 'Cable Raincoat Co.' from Boston, size medium. Rare original D-1 Type Flight Jacket in good used condition!

This jacket originates from the collection of the recently closed Eyewitness Museum and was in display in the diorama in the last picture!
