German Colonial Award in Silver (Kolonialauszeichnung). The colonial award, also known as the Order of the Lion (Löwenorden), is a non-governmental German award from the time of the Weimar Republic. The award was instituted in 1922 in two classes by 'Generalmajor a. D. Georg Ludwig Rudolf Maercker'. The silver class is complete with its functional pin & catch. It is nicely marked on the back with 'Ges.Gesch' and 'Nr.34162'. Nice original colonial award in very good condition!
