German 'Militair-Paß', issued in 1868. The pass belonged to a member within the '6.Westf.Inf.Rgt.No55' (6. Westfälisches Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 55) who has been awarded with the War Commemorative Medal of 1870/71 (Kriegsdenkmünze 1870/71). Various battle entries have been made in the pass including the opening battles on 6 August 1870, the 'Schlacht vor Metz' (Siege of Metz) on 14 August 1870, the 'Schlacht bei Gravelotte' (Battle of Gravelotte) on 18 August 1870 and battles around 'Sorges'.  The pass is in used condition. Interesting original pass from the Franco-Prussian War!.
