Imperial Bavarian Pilots Badge
This is a stunning original German Bavarian Pilots Badge (Bayern Militär-Flugzeugführerabzeichen). The WW1 Bavarian Pilots Badge was originally introduced on 14 February 1913 by 'Prinz Ludwig III., König von Bayern'. All pilots, regardless of rank, were eligible. This badge is a nice wartime period issued hollow construction example, possibly made of silver (it was sold in auction by Ratisbons as a silver piece). The badge shows very nice & pronounced detail overall. The badge has naturally a functional pin & catch construction. This is an unmarked so-called Quadrat variant, often marked with a square punch on the pin, most likely produced by the company of 'Carl Dillenius' from Pforzheim. Desirable and rare original WW1 Bavarian Pilots Badge in very good condition!
