Iron Cross 1st Class (Eisernes Kreuz 1. Klasse). On 1 September 1939 Hitler reinstituted the Iron Cross (First time in 1813). The first class medal was for award to personnel who performed three to five acts of bravery in combat, and had already been awarded the Iron Cross second class. The cross has a three piece construction and a magnetic core. The cross is maker marked with number 'L/52' indicating production by the company of 'C.F. Zimmermann' from Pforzheim. The cross is having a functional pin and catch. The cross shows minor traces of usage and is in overall very good condition, on the reverse the soldier's name and a 1943 date are engraved, see photos. Nice original cross!
