Wehrmacht 'Affe' Backpack M1939 (Tornister 39), this is the type without fur flap. This backpack was introduced by an order 'HM 39, No 328', dated 18 April 1939. The pack was worn hooked onto the belt supporting straps (Y-straps) which were introduced with the M1939 pack. Two D-rings with hook are sewn in a diagonal position near the rear upper edge of the pack. The Affe is nicely maker marked and dated 1940. The pack shows normal traces of usage and age, see photos. A nice detail is that this Affe is made from captured Dutch tunic cloth. Rare original backpack in very good condition!
