Cased Kriegsmarine 8x60 U-Boat Commander Binoculars (Kommandantenglas). This is a special series ordered by the Kriegsmarine at Carl Zeiss. The binoculars are in complete condition with original rubber eyecups. The glasses are chrystal clear and showing spectacular high quality view, the quality of these glasses is still today unsurpassed by other hand held binoculars. The binoculars bear the inscription: '8x60' and the unique number '2084793', dating this binocular to a production of 300 pieces in february 1941. The binoculars are in very good condition and are complete with original detachable stativ-holder for U-Boat deck mounting. The binoculars are stored in their original wooden box, the box is nicely 'blc' marked as well. The outside of the box has been overpainted in black. This is one of the rarest binoculars.
