Description

Matching K98 Combat Bayonet (Seitengewehr 98K). The K98 bayonet was a standard issue item and was accompanied by a bayonet frog to be worn on the reverse left side of the load carrying waist belt. The K98 bayonet remained the standard issue bayonet through-out the war with minor manufacturing variations. The bayonet and scabberd are both marked with serial-number '5861'. The bayonet and scabberd are matching maker marked and dated '41 asw' indicating production by the company of 'E. & F. Horster & Co.' from Solingen in 1941. The blade is in good used condition, the bayonet is having black-brown bakelite grips. The bayonet is showing some surface pitting. It comes with a heavily worn slightly damaged and repaired bayonet frog as found together, see photos. Nice original matching bayonet in used condition!
