Set of 2 German Weapon Oil Cans (Öl Behälter). The sheet metal construction oil canisters are marked 'MG-ÖL' (Machine Gun Oil) and the other 'WR-ÖL' (Weapon Cleaning Oil). Nice set in good used condition!

Set of 2 German Weapon Oil Cans (Öl Behälter). The sheet metal construction oil canisters are marked 'MG-ÖL' (Machine Gun Oil) and the other 'WR-ÖL' (Weapon Cleaning Oil). The canisters are having a screw-off cap. The canisters are sized approximately 24 x 12 x 7,5 cms. They are not visible maker marked or dated. I have not seen this type of cans before but the construction and material indicate that these date from the interbellum or early Reichswehr period, possibly intended for issue inside a larger weapon maintance box. Nice example in good used condition!
