Wehrmacht M31 Canteen and Cup (Feldflasche 31 und Trinkbecher). The standard issue M31 canteen was introduced on 23 March 1931. The aluminum canteen and black leather straps are all in overall good used condition with normal age and usage toning. The canteen is complete with its original felt cover which is showing some period repairs and is still covered in mud from the battlefield. To prevent the canteen from damaging I did not try to open the cover so I could not reed the markings on the aluminum canteen. The black painted aluminum cup is maker marked and dated 'FWBN42' indicating production in 1942. Overall a nice original combat worn canteen for a fair price!
