Wehrmacht MP44 / STG44 Magazine Pouch

Description

Wehrmacht MP44 / STG44 Magazine Pouch (Magazintasche). Soldiers equipped with the MP44 (Sturmgewehr 44) were issued a pair of magazine pouches which each held three thirty round magazines. This is a left side pouch. This pouch is made of recycled materials, green coloured canvas with brown leather closure straps. The pouch has been partly restored, the brown leather closure straps have been replaced. The sides of the flaps are made of carton, something I have not seen before and might be restored/replaced as well, see photos. The two webbing belt-loops on the reverse have in my opinion also been restored/replaced. The connecting strap has regrettably been cut off. The pouch is not visible maker marked or dated. Hard to find original MP44 magazine pouch in used condition!

This pouch originates from the collection of the recently closed Eyewitness Museum and was in display in the diorama in the last picture!
