Wehrmacht (Heer)/Kriegsmarine Bread Bag Model 1931 (Brotbeutel 31). Bread bags were widely utilized by all German military and non-military organizations, so various models and colors were produced. The bread bag was worn attached to the belt on the right side of the back. This is an early pre war produced example made of grey coloured canvas, the breadbag is re-inforced with leather parts. The breadbag is faintly maker marked and dated 1940. The breadbag is showing clear traces of usage and some staining, see photos. The two buttons for the belt-loops have been replaced with small naval type buttons, possibly indicating Kriegsmarine/Coastal Artillery usage. Nice early breadbag in used condition!
