 Wehrmacht (Heer) Tropical Combat Rucksack (Rucksack). During the war the early M34 and M39 Affe backpacks were found to be too expensive and time consuming to produce which resulted in the production of a wide variety of less expensive canvas construction combat rucksacks and backpacks. With the impending German entrance into the North African campaign, tropical uniforms and equipment were quickly developed and issued in time for 'Deutsches Afrika Korps', this included canvas web construction rucksacks. The rucksack is executed in green, ‘heavy-duty’ cotton and has a rounded fold over top flap. The metal D-rings on top of the flap are still present. The rucksack is partly made of captured British webbing material, the British markings and 1939 date are still clearly visible. Equipment made of recycled British webbing is known to have been produced in the Ghetto of Lodz, called 'Wirtschaftsamt Litzmannstadt'. There are normal traces of usage, see photos. Nice original tropical rucksack in good used condition!

Tijdens de oorlog bleken de vroege M34 en M39 affe rugzakken erg tijdrovend en duur in de productie wat resulteerde in een grote diversiteit aan goedkopere rugzakken. Met de groeiende Duitse deelname aan de Afrikaanse campagne werd in hoog tempo tropische kleding en uitrusting ontwikkeld voor het 'Deutsche Afrika Korps', hieronder vielen ook tropische webbing rugzakken. De rugzak is gemaakt van een stevige groene katoenen stof en heeft een ronde flap die over de rugzak heen valt. De metalen D-ringen op de klep zijn nog aanwezig. De rugzak is deels vervaardigd uit in beslag genomen Engels webbing materiaal, de Engelse markeringen en 1939 datering zijn nog zichtbaar. Het is bekend dat uitrusting van hergebruikte Engelse materialen werden geproduceerd in de Ghetto in Lodz, genaamd 'Wirtschaftsamt Litzmannstadt'. De rugzak vertoont normale gebruikssporen, zie foto's. Mooie originele tropische rugzak in goede gebruikte staat!
