Wehrmacht Mountain Trooper's ankle boots (Bergschuhe für Gebirgsjäger). Due to the nature of the terrain and the commonly colder climate that the Mountain Divisions were expected to serve in, special clothing, equipment and footwear was developed specifically for their use. This is a nice textbook pair of Mountain Trooper's ankle boots, made of dark-brown leather, complete with all hobnails and iron parts. The boots are complete with undamaged field-grey wool at the shafts. The boots are nicely marked and dated May 1942. The boots are a big size '29' (44 European) which is a perfect size for a mannequin. The boots are having 4 eyelets and 4 hooks to close the laces, the boots are complete with original period laces as found. The boots are showing the expected period use and wear, the pair is in overall very good only slightly used condition. This pair would be perfect for a Mountain Trooper's display. Hard to find pair of textbook original 'Gebirgsjäger' boots!
