German Political Brown Leather Boots (Hohe Stiefel). Besides the helmet, the blackened leather boot is probably one of the most instantly recognizable items of the German military. Officers and certain senior NCO ranks were responsible for purchasing their own uniforms including footwear. The Officers and certain senior NCO’s could choose to purchase their footwear from the armed forces clothing depots or to privately purchase footwear of higher quality. This is a nice quality privately purchased pair of, tall, brown leather boots (Hohe Stiefel) as worn by members of political organisations like the SA or NSDAP. The boots are nicely maker marked by the company 'Sieger', the boots are a large size '44'. The leather is still supple. These boots date from the pre-WW2 period and are perfect for a political display. The boots are in very good condition showing only minimal traces of usage. Hard to find original period pair of brown leather boots!
