Hitler-Jugend Knife (HJ Fahrtenmesser). The 'HJ Fahrtenmesser' (Hike/Camp knife) was introduced in early 1933. The magnetic type knife has black molded diamond grooved bakelite grips, the obverse grip has an imbedded enameled HJ diamond. The knife comes with its original magnetic sheet metal scabbard, the scabberd lost most of its original black paint and shows normal traces of usage and some surface rust. The leather belt loop is present and complete with the small leather retaining strap, the small strap however came loose and is slightly damaged but functional, see photos. The blade is maker marked by the company of 'Carl Wüsthof, Gladiatorwerk' from Solingen. Overall still a nice original HJ dagger in heavily used condition for a fair price!
