German Horse Driver's Badge in Bronze

Description

German Horse Driver's Badge in Bronze (Fahrerabzeichen). Instituted in 1930 by the German National Federation for the Breeding and Testing of Thoroughbreds. The badge was awarded in thee classes with different qualifications, one of which was that the lower grade badge must be awarded before being eligible for a higher grade. Less than 17.500 of these badges were awarded between 1931 and 1942. The medal was worn on the left breast of the uniform. The badge is a Third Reich period produced example, recognizable at the capital 'R' (Reiter) at the bottom. The zinc type badge is nicely maker marked by the company of 'L.Chr. Lauer' from Nürnberg/Berlin. The badge is complete with a functional pin & catch. Nice example in good condition!
