Luftwaffe Officer's Visor Cap

Description

Luftwaffe Officer's Visor Cap (Schirmmütze für Offiziere). Visor caps were a standard item for all armed forces personnel during the Third Reich period. Although enlisted personnel were issued their caps from government supplies they were also permitted to purchase privately tailored caps. This is a late war 1944/45 period privately purchased Officer's visor cap, the interiour is nicely ink-marked by the company of 'Peküro', the cap is showing the textbook Peküro support system under the sweatband above the visor. The leather sweatband is in good supple condition, the cap is size '55' marked on the inside of the sweatband. The cap is having the silver piping for officers. The cap is complete with its original hand-embroidered officer's type cap-eagle and an Officer's type hand-embroidered cocarde, both originally hand-sewn to the cap. The chinstrap is attached to RZM marked chinstrap buttons, a typical feature for late war Peküro caps. The cap is showing some small moth damages, see photos.
