Polizei M40 DD Combat Helmet
Polizei Double Decal M40 Combat Helmet (Stahlhelm M40). The stamped sheet steel construction M40 helmet retains almost all of its slightly textured field-grey paint, the paint is showing scratches and normal traces of usage. Both decals are in very good condition with some minor damage and scratches caused by usage, both decals are present for about 95%. All three liner retaining rivets are intact. The interior of the helmet is a M31 leather liner, the liner is approximately a size 56. The leather is in good condition, the liner is complete with origina liner-cord. The shell is marked with maker and size 'Q64' which indicates production by the 'F.W. Quist, G.m.b.H.' in Esslingen. The reverse interior neck guard apron has a stamped serial number 'DN182'. The helmet is complete with its original chinstrap, the chinstrap is nicely maker marked and dated 1942. Hard to find original Polizei helmet in good untouched original condition!
