Wehrmacht (Heer) M42 Single Decal Combat Helmet (Stahlhelm M42). The stamped sheet steel construction M42 helmet still retains a fair amount of its rough textured, field-grey paint, the helmet however shows clear surface pitting, probably being cleaned from rust once. The left side of the helmet has a standard ET-Type Heeres decal which is retained for about 85%. All three liner retaining rivets are intact. The two front pins have been replaced at some point, but judging by the liner and patina they have been in there a long time; possibly a wartime replacement. The interior of the helmet has a M31 leather liner. The liner is complete with its original drawsting. The liner is in good used condition, see photos. The shell is marked with maker and size 'ckl64' which indicates production by the company 'Eisen-und Hüttenwerke, AG' in Thale/Harz. The reverse interior neck guard apron has a stamped serial number '2832'. Overall a nice original M42 combat helmet in good used condition!
