Early Luftwaffe DD M35 Combat Helmet
Early Luftwaffe Double Decal M35 Combat Helmet (Stahlhelm M35). The stamped sheet steel construction M35 helmet retains most of its early Luftwaffe-gray paint, the paint is showing scratches and normal traces of usage and some light surface rust. Both decals are in good condition with some normal damage and scratches caused by usage, the early first pattern drooptail Luftwaffe eagle is present for about 80%, the national shield for about 60%. All three liner retaining rivets are intact. The interior of the helmet is an early M31 leather liner with reinforced aluminum liner-ring, all eight fingers are present. The liner is complete with original liner cord. There is a nice white ink dome-stamp inside the helmet that reads 'Flzg.F.Sch.Fürth' (Flugzeugführerschule Fürth) indicating that this helmet belonged to the Pilot School located in Fürth. The shell is marked with maker and size 'ET64'. 'ET' is indicating production by the company of 'Eisen-und Hüttenwerke, AG' from Thale/Harz. The reverse interior neck guard apron has a stamped serial number '4187'. The helmet is complete with its original incomplete/damaged leather chinstrap as found. The helmet is in untouched and uncleaned condition as found. Honest original early M35 DD Luftwaffe helmet in good used condition!
