Kriegsmarine SD M42 Combat Helmet

Description

Kriegsmarine Single-decal M42 Combat Helmet (Stahlhelm M42). The stamped sheet steel construction M42 helmet retains most of its rough textured, field-grey paint. The paint shows normal wear and scratches caused by usage, see photos. A standard Kriegsmarine decal is applied to the left side of the helmet, the decal is retained for about 98%.  All three liner retaining rivets are intact. The interior of the helmet is a M31 leather liner with steel ring, the leather is still very supple and nicely size '56' marked. The liner is complete with its original drawstring as found. The shell is marked with maker and size 'EF64' which indicates production by the company 'Emaillerwerke AG' in Fulda. The reverse interior neck guard apron has a stamped serial number '4339'. The helmet is complete with its period replaced original chinstrap as found. This helmet was found privately in Groningen in the Netherlands where it was left behind at the end of the war. Hard to find untouched original Kriegsmarine helmet in very good condition!
