Luftwaffe Double Decal M35 Combat Helmet (Stahlhelm M35). This is a stamped sheet steel construction M35 helmet, the paint is showing scratches and normal traces of usage and a lof of light surface rust, see photos. The Luftwaffe eagle is present for about 40%, the national shield for about 85%. The national shield is showing period red overpaint, possibly indicating that this helmet has been reissued by a Latvian volunteer since the colours are representing the Latvian flag as shown on Latvian volunteer shields. All three liner retaining rivets are intact. The interior of the helmet is an M31 leather liner, all eight fingers are present, the liner is a size '57'. The liner is complete with original liner cord. The shell is marked with maker and size 'SE66'. 'SE' is indicating production by the 'Sächsische Emaillier und Stanzwerke A.G.' in Lauter. The reverse interior neck guard apron has a stamped serial number which is hard to read and a painted name. The helmet is complete with its original leather chinstrap with aluminum roller-buckle. Nice original possibly volunteer reissued M35 DD Luftwaffe helmet in used and uncleaned condition as found!
