Luftwaffe M35 DD 'Woodchip' Camouflage Helmet

Description

Luftwaffe M35 DD 'Woodchip' Camouflage Combat Helmet (Stahlhelm M35). The steel construction M35 helmet is complete with unfortunately post-war dug-up Luftwaffe decal and National Flag Shield. The decals are showing clear traces of having been dug-up (polished) by a collector in the past. The helmet is showing remains of a three-tone camouflage in green/tan colours having 'woodchip' added to the paint. All three liner retaining rivets are intact. The interior of the helmet is an early M31 leather liner with all eight fingers intact, complete with original liner cord. The early liner is having a reinforced aluminum ring and is nicely maker marked and dated 1938. The early liner is in very good condition. The shell is marked with maker and size 'SE64'. 'SE' is indicating production by the 'Sächsische Emaillier und Stanzwerke A.G.' in Lauter. The reverse interior neck guard apron has a stamped serial number '3827' and is showing the painted initials 'A.Z.'. One part of the chinstrap is still present as well. Despite the dug-up decals, still a very nice original camouflage helmet for a reasonable price!
