Luftwaffe M35 Combat Helmet (Stahlhelm M35). The stamped sheet steel construction M35 helmet retains most of its original early Luftwaffe-gray paint on the inside and is showing a rough (Rautarn) overpaint on the outside, traces of a period removed national shield decal are clearly visible, the paint is showing scratches and normal traces of usage. All three liner retaining rivets are intact. The interior of the helmet is an early M31 leather liner with single aluminum liner-ring, the liner ring is nicely maker marked by the 'Schuberth Werk K.G.' from Braunschweig and dated 1937. The leather liner is complete with all eight fingers and its original liner cord. The liner is size '55' marked, the initials 'A.M.' have been written on the liner. The shell is marked with maker and size 'NS62'. 'NS' is indicating production by the company of 'Vereinigte Deutsche Nickelwerke AG' from Schwerte. The reverse interior neck guard apron has a stamped serial number 'D5' and shows the white painted initials 'A.M.' matching with the liner. The helmet is complete with its original early chocolate brown leather chinstrap with aluminum buckle and studs. The chinstrap is faintly maker marked by the company of 'Rahm & Kampmann' from Wuppertal and dated 1938. Nice original ex-DD Luftwaffe M35 helmet with 'Rautarn' camouflage overpaint in good used condition!
