Luftwaffe M40 Combat Helmet (Stahlhelm M40). The 'ET64' marked helmet is complete with its original liner and leather chinstrap. The helmet is showing a nice rough field-applied 'Rautarn' overpaint. Very nice original Luftwaffe helmet!

Description

Luftwaffe M40 Combat Helmet (Stahlhelm M40). The steel construction M40 helmet retains most of its rough textured, blue-gray 'Rautarn' camouflage overpaint, showing nice brush strokes.A Luftwaffe decal has been period removed, the outlines are still visible beneath the paint. The helmet is showing normal traces of usage. All three liner retaining rivets are intact. The interior of the helmet is a M31 leather liner with all eight fingers intact, the leather is still supple. The size '57' marked liner is complete with its original liner cord. The shell is marked with maker and size 'ET64'. 'ET' is indicating production by the 'Eisen-und Hüttenwerke, AG' from Thale/Harz. The reverse interior neck guard apron has a stamped lot-number '5154'. The helmet is complete with its original leather chinstrap as found together. The helmet is in untouched and uncleaned condition as found. Stunning original Luftwaffe helmet!
