Luftwaffe Signals EM/NCO's Visor Cap
This is a nice original Luftwaffe Signals (Nachrichten) EM/NCO's Visor Cap (Schirmmütze). Visor caps were a standard item for all armed forces personnel during the Third Reich period. Although enlisted personnel were issued their caps from government supplies they were also permitted to purchase privately tailored caps. This is privately purchased visor cap, the sweatdiamond is present and nicely maker marked by the famous tailor 'Willy Sprengpfeil' from Hamburg and dated 1937, the cap is size 57 marked. The cap is having the orange-brown 'Truppenfarbe' (branch-colour) for Signals (Nachrichten Personal). The leather sweatband is in good condition and showing some nice ink unit markings, see photos. The cap is complete with its original early aluminum cap-eagle and cocarde. The eagle is a first pattern eagle with drooptail. The simulated leather chinstrap is in good condition. The cap was most likely never issued and is still having its original protective paper inside. Unfortunately the cap has been damaged all over the top and along the sides by moths, see photos. Nice original Luftwaffe visor cap, due to the moth damage priced accordingly!
