Luftwaffe Signals EM's Summer Visor Cap (Sommerschirmmütze). Visor caps were a standard item for all armed forces personnel during the Third Reich period. Although enlisted personnel were issued their caps from government supplies they were also permitted to purchase privately tailored caps. This is a privately purchased white-topped summer visor cap, complete with its removable white top having its original aluminum cap eagle and cocarde attached. The cap is complete with original leather sweatband, nicely maker marked by the manufacturer 'Hettlage' from Augsburg and marked with 'Stirndrückfrei'. The cap is having the orange 'Truppenfarbe' (branch-colour) for personnel serving within the 'Nachrichten' (Signals). The cap is complete with its original blackened leather chinstrap as found. The cap is in good used condition showing some normal traces of usage and minor (moth)damage and staining, see photos. Nice original Luftwaffe white-topped summer visor cap in good used condition!
