 Luftwaffe M35 Double Decal ex-winter three tone camouflaged combat helmet (Stahlhelm M35). The steel construction M35 helmet started its life as a Double Decal Luftwaffe Helmet, the national flag shield is still visible beneath the thick camouflage paint. The next layer of paint is showing a winter white wash camouflage. This is covered up with a dark blue Luftwaffe Reissue paint which is also visible on the aluminum liner band. The last layer of paint is a three-tone spray paint camouflage in brown/green/tan paint that is normally referred to as 'Normandy' camouflage. Another feature in these thick layers of paint is that one can see the imprint of a wire or string that once adorned the top of the shell. The helmet was found in Norway a while ago. The helmet bears a pencil marking on the left side that resembles the Norwegian royal symbol indicating possible resistance use. All three liner retaining rivets are intact. The interior of the helmet is an early M31 leather liner with all eight fingers intact and the original liner cord is present as well. The early liner is having a reinforced aluminum ring. The shell is marked with maker and size 'ET64' which indicates production by the company 'Eisen-und Hüttenwerke, AG' in Thale/Harz. The reverse interior neck guard apron has a stamped serial number '3768'.The helmet is complete with its original  chinstrap as found together, the chinstrap is maker marked and dated 'EAS41'. There are normal traces of wear and usage, the helmet is in overall good used condition. This helmet is a great example of true combat usage throughout the war, featuring multiple wartime camouflage repaints. This would be a great addition to any helmet/camouflage collection.  Luftwaffe M35 Double Decal ex-winter driekleurige gecamoufleerde gevechtshelm (Stahlhelm M35). De stalen constructie M35-helm begon zijn leven als een Double Decal Luftwaffe-helm, het schild van de nationale vlag is nog steeds zichtbaar onder de dikke camouflageverf. De volgende verflaag toont een winter 'white wash' camouflage. Deze is bedekt met een donkerblauwe Luftwaffe reissue-verf die ook zichtbaar is op de aluminium liner ring. De laatste verflaag is een driekleurige gespoten camouflage verf in bruin/groen/zand-kleurige verf die vaak 'Normandië' camouflage wordt genoemd. Een extra detail van deze dikke verflagen is dat men de afdruk kan zien van een camouflage (ijzer)draad dat ooit om de helm zat. De helm is een tijdje geleden gevonden in Noorwegen. De helm heeft aan de linkerkant een potlood-markering die lijkt op het Noorse koninklijke symbool dat mogelijk gebruik door het Noorse verzet aangeeft. Alle drie de splitpennen van het binnenwerk zijn intact. Het vroege binnenwerk van de helm is een M31 leren binnenwerk met alle acht de vingers en ook het originele touwtje is aanwezig. Het vroege type binnenwerk heeft een verstevigde aluminium ring.  De helmschaal is gemarkeerd met maker en maat 'ET64' wat duidt op productie door de firma 'Eisen-und Hüttenwerke, AG' in Thale/Harz. Achterin de binnenzijde van de nek van de helm staat ook een serienummer '3768'. De helm is compleet met zijn originele kinriempje zoals die samen gevonden is, de kinriem is maker gemarkeerd en gedateerd met 'EAS41'. Er zijn normale sporen van slijtage en gebruik, de helm is in een goede gebruikte staat. Deze helm is een mooi voorbeeld van een echte front-veteraan, met meerdere oorlogse camouflage lagen. Dit zou een geweldige aanvulling zijn op elke helmen en/of camouflage verzameling. Schitterende originele helm!
