WH (Heer) 'Artillerie' EM/NCO Visor Cap (Schirmmütze). Visor caps were a standard item for all armed forces personnel during the Third Reich period. Although enlisted personnel were issued their caps from government supplies they were also permitted to purchase privately tailored caps. This is privately purchased visor cap, complete with celluloid manufacturer's sweat-diamond ('Raute'), maker marked by the famous 'Erel' company. The cap is approximately a size '56'. The leather sweatband is in good used condition and matching marked with 'Erel Patent, Stirnschütz', see photos. The Visor cap is piped in the red 'Truppenfarbe' (branch-colour) for Artillery personnel. The cap is complete with its original aluminum cap eagle and typical 'Erel' type ventilated cap cocarde. The simulated leather chinstrap is in good condition. The cap shows some minor traces of years of storage but is in overall very good condition, see photos. The cap has a great shape (Sattelform).
