WH (Heer) 'Infanterie' Officer's Visor Cap
WH (Heer) 'Infanterie' Officer's Visor Cap (Schirmmütze). Visor caps were a standard item for all armed forces personnel during the Third Reich period. Although enlisted personnel were issued their caps from government supplies they were also permitted to purchase privately tailored caps. This is a nice privately purchased Officer's example. Complete with celluloid manufacturers sweat-diamond ('Raute') marked by tailor 'J.Zettel' from Hannover. The cap is approximately a size '57'. The Visor cap is piped in the white 'Truppenfarbe' (branch-colour) for Infantry personnel. The leather sweatband is in used conditions showing some cracks and damages, see photos. The cap is complete with its original hand-applied hand-embroidered cocarde and cap-eagle. The cap is showing normal traces of usage and is in overall very good condition having a great shape (Sattelform) and look. This cap has been published in the well known Schiffer Book 'German Visor Caps of the Second World War'. Great original Infantry Visor Cap!
