WH (Heer) Infantry Officer's Visor Cap
WH (Heer) Infantry Officer's Visor Cap (Schirmmütze). Visor caps were a standard item for all armed forces personnel during the Third Reich period. Although enlisted personnel were issued their caps from government supplies they were also permitted to purchase privately tailored caps. This is a nice private purchased Officer's example. Complete with celluloid manufacturers sweat-diamond ('Raute') marked with 'Deutsche Wertarbeit'. The leather sweatband is in good condition. The cap is unit maker marked on the inside of the sweatband as intended for an officer within the '2./MG-Bataillon 2'. The front section where the visor attachement is looks like it has been repaired/glued once. The Visor cap is piped in the white 'Truppenfarbe' (branch-colour) for Infantry personnel. The cap is complete with its original zinc type cap eagle and cocarde. The cap is having a correct officer's type chinstrap. The cap is showing normal traces of usage and some minor (moth)damage but is in overall good condition. Nice looking Wehrmacht Officer's visor cap!
