Wehrmacht (Heer) M42 Combat Helmet (Stahlhelm M42). The stamped sheet steel construction M42 helmet retains most of its rough textured field-grey paint. The paint shows normal traces and small scratches caused by usage and storage, the inside of the shell is slightly rusted. All three liner retaining rivets are intact. The interior of the helmet has a M31 leather liner, the leather is in good and supple condition. The metal liner ring is nicely RB.Nr. marked and dated 1944. The liner is size '55' marked. The liner is complete with its original drawstring. The shell is marked with maker and size 'hkp62' which indicates production by the company 'Sächsische Emaillier und Stanzwerke A.G.' from Lauter. The reverse interior neck guard apron has a stamped serial number '4394'. Nice original late war M42 combat helmet in very good condition!
