Wehrmacht (Heer) M42 Combat Helmet (Stahlhelm M42). The stamped sheet steel construction M42 helmet retains most of its typical late war rough textured matte field-grey paint. The paint shows normal traces and small scratches caused by usage. All three liner retaining rivets are intact, there is some tension on the rivets but they appear all untouched. The interior of the helmet is an M31 leather liner, the liner is in used condition showing some minor damage. The liner is approximately a size '57'. The liner is complete with what looks to be a period replaced drawstring. The shell is faintly maker marked but looks to be a 'EF64' helmet which indicates production by the company 'Emaillerwerke AG' from Fulda. The reverse interior neck guard apron has a stamped serial number '3827'. The helmet is complete with its original leather chinstrap, the chinstrap is nicely maker marked and dated 1941. The helmet is named to an NCO (Unteroffizier), see photos. Nice original late war M42 combat helmet in good used condition!
