WH (Heer) M42 SD Camouflage Helmet
WH (Heer) M42 Single Decal Camouflaged Combat Helmet (Stahlhelm M42). The steel construction M42 helmet retains most of its rough textured, (field-applied) three-tone tan/brown/green camouflage over-paint. An army decal is clearly visible beneath the paint. The paint shows normal wear and scratches, see photos. All three liner retaining rivets are intact. The interior of the helmet is a M31 leather liner with all eight fingers intact and the liner is a large size '58'. The liner is complet with its original drawstring. The shell is marked with maker and size 'NS66' which indicates production by the company 'Vereinigte Deutsche Nickelwerke AG' in Schwerte. The reverse interior neck guard apron has a stamped serial number 'D345'. The helmet is complete with its original chinstrap, the chinstrap is not visible maker marked. Very nice and hard to find original camouflaged helmet!
