RAD Officer's M43 Cap
RAD (Reichsarbeitsdienst) Officer's M43 Cap (Einheitsfeldmütze M43 für Offiziere). The M43 field cap was introduced for wear by all ranks on 11 June 1943 as a replacement cap for all other field caps then in use. The design of the M43 field cap was based on the earlier M42 overseas cap (Feldmütze) and the Mountain Trooper’s Mountain Cap (Bergmütze) with minor variations. The olive brown wool construction M43 cap is having silver officers piping attached to the crown of the cap. The cap is nicely maker marked by the company 'August Schellenberg, Uniformmützenfabrik' from Bromberg. The cap is approximately a size 57.58. The cap is complete with an original factory machine-sewn flat-wire woven RAD Officers cap insignia. The cap is only showing minor traces of usage. Rare original RAD Officer's M43 cap in very good condition!
