Dutch 'Opbouwdienst' Tunic

Description

Rare original Dutch 'Nederlandse Opbouwdienst' (N.O.D.) Tunic. The Dutch 'Nederlandse Opbouwdienst' (N.O.D.) was established on 15 July 1940 by the German controlled Dutch government. It was an organization tasked to dismantle the Dutch Army. The tunic is constructed of a reissued so-called Dutch 'buitenmodel' tunic which was a privately purchased Dutch army tunic in field green-grey woolen cloth. The tunic is having the blue branch-colour piping which indicates Infantry. The tunic has the so-called 'Bananenschillen' on the sleeves which indicates the rank of 'Sergeant'. To reissue this tunic for the NOD a blue-green coloured collar has been applied. A dark-blue lanyard has been attached to the tunic and a NOD white triangular insignia has been sewn to the wearer's left upper-sleeve. The tunic shows some normal traces of usage and the tunic is showing some minor staining/damages, see photos. The tunic is in overall good used condition. Rare and hard to find original NOD tunic!
