Militaria Plaza

This is a nice original so-called 'Buitenmodel' tunic grouping as intended for a 1st Lieutenant within the 'Geneeskundige Dienst' (Medical Service). The set is named to 'Pieter Mathijs Josef Wolters' and comes with documentation (copies of his service records and a copy of one post-war photo of him). The grouping is consisting of his tunic and overcoat as found together. The 'buitenmodel' tunic is a privately purchased tunic in field green-grey woolen cloth. The tunic is having the blue branch-colour piping which indicates Infantry. The tunic has two metal silver stars attached to each collar tip which indicates the rank of a '1e luitenant' (1st Lieutenant), medical service insignia are nicely hand-embroiderd to both sides of the collar. A name-tag is present inside the tunic, the tag is named and dated 10 December 1939, the tunic was made by tailor 'Jos Stienen' from Helmond. The greatcoat is having a name-tag inside, the tag is named and dated 9 February 1937. The greatcoat was made by tailor 'Gebr. Gerlach' from Utrecht. The greatcoat is having nicely hand-embroidered silver coloured stars to each collar tip. Both the tunic and greatcoat are showing normal traces of usage and both are regrettably showing some moth damages on various spots, see photos for details. Interesting original named Dutch tunic grouping!
